Thought for the Day!

I read this over at Diet Porn is Obsession. She has the coolest blog! Gives you all sorts of meal ideas, especially lunch. Check it out.

This is what I learned today...the difference between snacks and treats. Snacks are mini-meals and will provide nourishment. Treats will not meet those conditions and will therefore be less healthy, i.e. contain more sugar, etc.

Boy, this is really an eye opener to some. I have always known this, but sometimes need to be reminded! There are so many diet food products out there that enable us to eat pretty much like everyone else. But honestly folks...junk is still junk, whether is is "baked and not fried" or "sugar free"" or "fat free", IT IS STILL JUNK! It is not nourishing our bodies and isn't that the whole idea of eating healthy? To give our bodies good fuel and not just a bunch of additives, preservatives, and other things we can not even pronounce.

Trust me, I am not one of those "holier than thou" dieters, (just read my last few posts!) but some things just come and smack you in the face! This is one reason that I did not want to go on weight watcher's because it gives you the latitude to eat junk like there absolutely delicious ice cream sandwiches or even a piece of wedding cake and still stay within your points. Kinda like God giving us "free will". It can definately get you in trouble.

My goal is to really watch what I am fueling my body with and to try to have snacks and not treats!
